Aerial, 3D Tour, or Both? Choosing the Right Media Package for Your Next Listing

Six packages, six different jobs. Here's a quick way to think about which one fits the listing you're marketing.

Aerial, 3D Tour, or Both? Choosing the Right Media Package for Your Next Listing

We get some version of "what should I actually book?" on almost every call. The honest answer depends on the listing, not on maximizing what you buy — a starter condo doesn't need the same package as a five-acre luxury estate. Here's how we'd think through it.

Photos ($295 and up) — the baseline

Every package includes premium interior and exterior photography, and for a straightforward listing in a competitive price range, that's often genuinely enough. If the home is smaller, the market is moving fast, or the seller is price-sensitive on marketing spend, photos alone still put a listing in a strong position — especially paired with good staging.

Photos Plus & Photos + 3D Tour ($325–$385) — when buyers need to walk it themselves

Both of these add an interactive home tour on top of photography. This is where we'd point a listing that's likely to draw out-of-area or relocation buyers, since a 3D tour lets someone genuinely explore the layout before ever scheduling a showing — which matters more the further a buyer is starting from.

Photos + Zillow Showcase ($395) — when Zillow visibility is the priority

This bundles the 3D tour and floor plan specifically formatted to qualify for Zillow's Showcase boost (see our full breakdown of what that requires). If the seller cares specifically about Zillow performance — and a large share of buyer traffic in this market does come through Zillow — this is the more targeted choice over the general 3D tour package.

Photos + Video ($425–$700) — when the story matters as much as the space

A 1–2 minute highlight video is built for listings with a strong sense of place — a neighborhood with real character, a lifestyle-driven amenity like a pool or waterfront, or a home where the flow between rooms is a selling point that's hard to capture in stills alone. It's also simply the most shareable format for social media, which matters if the seller is expecting an active marketing push.

Luxury ($585–$835) — the full package

This is built for listings where the marketing needs to match the price point: premium photos, a 3D home tour, a highlight video, three day-to-dusk photos, an interactive home tour, and a full home data report. We'd point almost any listing above the upper-middle of the local market here, since underselling a high-end home's marketing is a real risk to days-on-market and final price.

Aerial & drone

Aerial isn't its own package, but it's worth calling out separately since it's not always obvious when it matters. It's the right call for anything with meaningful lot size, waterfront or golf-course frontage, a distinctive roofline, or a location where the neighborhood itself is part of the pitch. For a townhome on a standard lot, it's usually not worth the add-on.
