Zillow Showcase, Explained: What NoVA Agents Should Know Before Their Next Listing

The boost is real, but it only applies to listings that meet two specific requirements — and it's easy to book media that misses one of them without realizing it.

Zillow Showcase, Explained: What NoVA Agents Should Know Before Their Next Listing

Zillow Showcase gets talked about a lot, but the actual mechanics of what qualifies a listing for it — versus what just looks like it should — aren't always clear. We're a Zillow Approved Photography Provider, and this is one of the questions we get most from agents booking their first Showcase listing.

What Zillow Showcase actually requires

To get the Showcase treatment (the enhanced, high-resolution display and the visibility boost), a listing needs two things together: a Zillow 3D Home tour and a Zillow floor plan. Neither one on its own is enough. A listing with only a 3D tour and no floor plan doesn't get the Showcase boost, and vice versa — a distinction that trips up a fair number of agents and photographers, since a 3D tour on its own looks like it should qualify.

The media also has to come through a photographer certified in Zillow's program, using approved 360° capture equipment. That's the certification we hold as an Approved Provider, which is part of why our Photos + Zillow Showcase package is built specifically to satisfy both requirements in one booking rather than requiring you to piece it together separately.

What it's worth

Zillow's own claim is that boosted listings receive roughly twice the views of non-boosted listings, along with better placement in search results and inclusion in more buyer email alerts. We can't independently verify Zillow's internal view-count math, but the mechanism makes sense: Showcase listings get a visibly different, higher-resolution presentation in the app, which is exactly the kind of thing that gets a second look while scrolling.

How to make sure your listing qualifies

The simplest way is to book media that's built for it from the start, rather than adding pieces after the fact. When you book our Photos + Zillow Showcase package, the 3D tour and floor plan are bundled together and uploaded directly in the format Zillow's Showcase program expects — so there's no gap between what you booked and what actually qualifies.

If you've already got photos from another shoot and just need the 3D tour and floor plan to complete a Showcase listing, reach out and we can usually work that in separately — just flag it when you book so we bring the right equipment.

Book a Showcase-ready shoot.

Photos + Zillow Showcase packages start at $395 and include the 3D tour and floor plan Zillow requires for the boost.
